[Peeweelinux] ftpd and telnet are slow

Hi

I am using the telnet server that comes with PWL and I have installed 
troll-ftpd-1.27. I am using a simple crossover cable between two 
computers. When I telnet or ftp on the embedded computer everything 
works very quickly. However when I telnet from another computer 
everything is very slow even though I have tried passive and active modes.

When I ping it I get
PING 192.168.1.2 (192.168.1.2) from 192.168.1.1 : 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.1.2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=0.283 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.1.2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=0.290 ms

which looks prety fast to me
It is nearly impossible to get a 37k file and takes ages to get a file 
that is 1k. listing the files is not to fast either.

Any ideas??
