[Peeweelinux] compact flash newbie

Hi,

    I am a newbie.I want to replace the HD of a
desktop system with a flash device for it to act as a
embedded linux controller.
    I decided on Compact Flash Cards as they are
cheap.But do I need to have a CF-IDE adapter or can I
socket it directly onto the motherboard?
