I 'figured' out my problem(s). I was using a debian development system and things just didn't work right. I rebuilt the system as a RH6.2 box, and voila! all was well. I now have a system that boots off my CF card and runs like it should. Now to write the software that I want to run on it. Thanks for all the ideas and help. John
