A big thanks to Troy for posting his howto
for the 2.4 kernel on this list. The directions are
great.
Can I add any odd packages I need by simply creating a
"sparse tree" skeleton filesystem with respect to
/ and adding the files, tarring it up, and
adding a matching xxxx.list file? I really don't want to
learn the finer points of .rpms.
Second, I was wondering if the group passed around or
shared some of the new packages they have built (as
I've built a new 2.4 kernel)... Obviously, for professional
applications there is a need to build it from scratch, but
for my wee little home toys, it would save a lot of time ;)
Thanks again for the support. This seems to be one of the
better supported and more sensable embedded linux
distributions that does not require a big monetary investment.
Hopefully I can contribute something at some point.
Thanks,
murph
