[Peeweelinux] PQI reader was Cannot stat /dev/hdc11, compact flash,

Is there a particular incantation to use the PQI reader / writer?
When I plug the device into my USB bus the kernel sees it but then
complains about no media in the device despite the fact that there is.

This is RH 7.2

It is like the kernel is not looking at all the slots on the device for
media.
